Dear Colleagues,
It is with great pleasure that we welcome all the researchers in
the field of Biomaterials to the International
Forum on Biomaterials (BIOMATFORUM2023), which will be held in Porto, Portugal during February 06-08, 2023.
The aim of BIOMATFORUM2023 is to be a premier international forum
to highlight novel developments, to share new ideas, research results
and development experiences, and provide networking opportunities with peers to help establish connections for early-career scientists to meet a
diverse mix of researchers, decision-makers to strengthen existing connections
and forge new ones.
Also, the main agenda of this conference is to bring together
world-leading academics, practitioners, industry leaders, policymakers, and
business professionals from the fields of Biomaterials to develop practical
solutions for current challenges in these fields. The conference series has
featured plenary talks, keynote talks, special sessions, poster presentations,
workshops, and contributed papers each year.
We do hope you can make time in your busy schedule to the meeting
and share your ideas on a topic of your choice and be a part of this successful
conference.
We are looking forward to seeing you in Porto,
Portugal.
Welcome to the BIOMATFORUM2023 Conference,
Let’s Innovate and Not Recirculate Biomaterials’ Research,
As we continue to emerge from COVID-19, we need to take advantage of every conference possible to push innovative biomaterials ahead. While our healthcare providers were ‘super human’ over the past 3 years of COVID-19, our healthcare system was at an all time low being pushed to the limit with unprecedented viral deaths, overcrowded hospitals, limited access to care, skepticism over vaccines, false science reports on social media, a shortage of medical supplies, halting of elective surgeries, extensive reactionary (not predictive) medicine, and so many more problems. Long-standing problems in our global healthcare system have been vastly exposed. While COVID-19 kept us from interacting with one another to debate new and innovative biomaterials that could solve such problems (including for COVID-19), that time has stopped and we need to double-down and make up for lost time
Unfortunately, during COVID-19 and continuing today for filling the void of in-person conferences, debate over biomaterials’ research spilled over into undesirable social media platforms, away from the rigor and tradition of the formal scientific debate that occurs at conferences. Unfortunately, as a consequence of this lack of “checks-and-balances”, social media is now full of false information all across science. Social media can never be our source of science and this conference is our chance to take science back, meeting with old colleagues, making new colleagues, and having a true scientific debate over the future of new innovative biomaterials.
Another problem during COVID-19 was the recycling of research where it seemed nothing new was being published or pursued, especially in biomaterials. This is understandable as many Universities closed labs at the beginning of COVID-19 significantly limiting innovative biomaterials’ research as research came to an almost stand still. Fortunately, industry persevered pushing new biomaterials’ research ahead and even through regulatory approvals for human implantation. Although recycling of old biomaterials’ research is nothing new at conferences, in this conference, we will highlight new innovate biomaterial researchlong overdue for debate
So, come join us! Take science back from false social media and put it back into conferences, where it belongs.
Put the truth back in science! And let’s innovate, not recirculate biomaterials’ research!
Can’t wait to see you and debate Biomaterials!
Best Regards,
