Professor Falasca did his PhD at Mario Negri Institute in Italy and postdoctoral studies at the Department of Pharmacology, New York University, USA with Professor Joseph Schlessinger. He was a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Medicine, at the University College London and a Professor at the Queen Mary University of London. Professor Falasca is a Full Professor in Metabolism, at Curtin Medical School, Curtin University, Perth, Australia. He is also a Visiting Professor at the University of Parma, Italy. His primary interest is the investigation of cellular and intercellular communication with a particular focus on the endocannabinoid system's role in pancreatic cancer progression and gastrointestinal functions and on the role of extracellular vesicles in pancreatic cancer.

Dr. Zhuang Liu is a Changjiang Distinguished professor at Soochow University in China. He received his BS degree from Peking University in 2004 and PhD degree from Stanford University in 2008. In 2009, Dr. Liu joined Institute Functional Nano & Soft Materials (FUNSOM) at Soochow University. Dr. Liu is now working in the field of biomaterials and nanomedicine, to develop smart materials and nanotechnology for biomedical imaging and cancer therapy. Dr. Liu has authored over 400 peer-reviewed papers, with a total citation of> 80,000 times and an H-index at 156. He has been listed as one of ‘Highly Cited Researchers’ (Materials, Chemistry) by Thomson Reuters since 2015. Hewas invited to be the Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC) in 2015, and elected to be the Fellow of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE) in 2019. The awards he received include the Xplorer Prize, Periodic Table of Younger Chemists by IUPAC, Biomaterials Science Lectureship by RSC, National Distinguished Young Scholar Award (Fund) by NSFC, etc. Now he is serving as an associate editor for Biomaterials. Xiao-Nan Li, M.D., Ph.D., is a Rachelle and Mark Gordon Endowed Professor of Cancer Research, and Professor (Tenured) of Pediatrics at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. He is also the Director of Developmental Therapeutic Core at Northwestern UniversityRobert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center. The overall goal Dr. Li's laboratory is to develop new therapies for brain cancers. He has a special interest in developing clinically relevant animal models for preclinical drug screening and biological studies of human malignant brain tumors. Recognizing the limitations of traditional subcutaneous xenograft models, Dr. Li is actively engaged in and have been leading the development of patient derived orthotopic xenograft (PDOX or orthotopic PDX) models through direct injection of fresh surgical and autopsied specimens of patient tumors into the anatomically matched locations in the brains of immunodeficient mice. With a tumor take rate >70%, Dr. Li has established nearly 200 PDOX models of brain tumors, including medulloblastoma, glioblastoma multiforme (both adult and pediatric), ependymoma, DIPG, atypical teratoid/rhabdoid tumor, CNS germinoma, and low grade glioma. Detailed characterization confirmed the molecular fidelity and clinical relevance of PDOX models to the original patient tumors. Using this unique panel of in vivo model system, Dr. Li's laboratory has also optimized a novel approach to establishing a large matching panels of in vitro 3D tumor organoids and is actively pursuing multiple biological and clinically-oriented projects. Dr. Li's research is richly supported by major federal and state grants in the United States, including serving as principle investigator in NIH/NCI grants (RO1 and 3 UO1) and3 Cancer Prevention Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT) grants. Dr. Li has published more than 100 research papers and his drug testing has resulted in the initiation of six clinical trials.

Jun Zhang, MD, PhD is a physician-scientist, principle investigator, and board certified internist and medical oncologist. Dr. Zhang received his medical degree from Xiang-Ya School of Medicine Central South University in China, PhD of Cancer Biology from LSU, postdoctoral research fellowship at Harvard Medical School and UCSF, and Hematology/Oncology fellowship at Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Zhang is passionate in frontier scientific discoveries, and has ample expertise in bench-to-bedside translation and development of investigator-initiated clinical trials. He has more than 100 publications including those appeared in high impact journals such as Oncogene, Cancer Research, Clinical Cancer Research, Journal of Thoracic Oncology, Molecular Cancer, Annals of Oncology, JAMA Oncology, Cancer Cell and New England Journal of Medicine, etc. Dr. Zhang is a member of multiple prestigious organizations including AACR, ASCO, ESMO, IASLC, RSM and CAHON where he also served as the Committee Co-chair of Clinical Research.
His research interests include the following broad aspects: 1) The role of microbiota in the oncogenesis, immune modulation and immunotherapy of lung cancer 2) Resistant mechanisms in targeted therapies for non-small cell lung cancer harboring driver mutations 3) Development of innovative interventional and translational trials for various thoracic malignancies. He currently serves as the co-Director of Lung Cancer Program and Associate Director of Early Phase Program at the University of Kansas Comprehensive Cancer Center (KUCC). He is a vital member in leading a multidisciplinary teamwork in both the research and patient care for Thoracic Oncology at KUCC.

Dr. Zhenghe John Wang is Dale H. Cowan M.D. Ruth Goodman Blum Professor of Cancer Research and vice chair for faculty development in the Department of Genetics and Genome Sciences at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) School of Medicine. He is also a co-leader of the Cancer Genome and Epigenome Program at Case Comprehensive Cancer Center. He co-discovered PIK3CA oncogenic mutations in human cancer. His laboratory identifies novel mechanisms by which PIK3CA oncogenic mutations drive tumorigenesis. He has successfully translated these discoveries into active phase I/II clinical trials and another clinical trial that is expected to open very soon.

Dr. Dovat obtained his M.D. and Ph.D. degrees at University in Novi Sad, Serbia. He completed pediatric residency at Penn State University, and clinical fellowship in pediatric hematology/oncology at UCLA-Children's Hospital. He received his research training at Cornell University and at Howard Hughes Medical Institute at UCLA. Since 2010, Dr. Dovat has been working at Penn State University, College of Medicine, as the Four Diamonds Endowed Chair and Director of Translational Research and Developmental Therapeutics in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology. He is a tenured Professor of Pediatrics. Dr. Dovat is the recipient of The Young Investigator Award by The American Society of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology. His research interests are: Childhood leukemia; epigenomics; cancer health disparity; and developmental therapy.

Seb Oltean Sebastian studied medicine at "Iuliu Hatieganu" Medical School, Cluj-Napoca, Romania and trained as a junior doctor in Nephrology and Dialysis before moving to USA where he obtained a PhD from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2004.This was followed by postdoctoral training at Duke University Medical Center (North Carolina, USA) where he became interested in studying the connections between alternative splicing and cancer. In 2008 he moved to the University of Bristol where he continued to study alternative splicing in vivo, with focus towards the importance of several genes splice isoforms (e.g VEGF, FGFR2) in cancer as well as kidney diseases and development of splice-based therapeutics. In 2012 he was appointed Independent Research Fellow and Principal Investigator and developed his own research group in Bristol before moving to the University of Exeter Medical School in 2017 where he is now an associate professor. He has published over 50 papers, some in high impact journals like Cancer Cell, Oncogene, PNAS or Nature Methods. The main goals of Oltean's lab are to understand molecular mechanisms of disease and to find novel therapeutic targets. As disease models, we work on cancer (especially prostate cancer) as well as diabetes (especially diabetic nephropathy). The cellular processes that we are most interested in are angiogenesis, epithelial-mesenchymal transitions and fibrosis. At molecular level we study alternative splicing regulation in physiology and disease, with a special emphasis on how we can manipulate alternative splicing for therapeutic benefit. Alternative splicing is one of the main processes that decide the diversity of proteins in our bodies. It is estimated that 94% of genes are alternatively spliced in humans and therefore this process affects all cellular properties. The function of the majority of splicing isoforms is not characterized yet. Numerous splicing isoforms have been associated with disease progression in recent years and there is much interest in understanding their contribution to pathogenesis and how this can be reversed for therapeutic purposes.

Dr. Leavenworth is an Associate Professor in the Department of Neurosurgery and Department of Microbiology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). She is also an Associate Scientist of the Neuro-Oncology Program of the UAB O'Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center and an Associate Scientist of Comprehensive Neuroscience Center. Previously, she was at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School serving as a postdoctoral fellow and then as an instructor. Her research is focused on immunology and immunotherapy, and has been published in many prestigious journals, including Nature Cancer, Molecular Cancer, Nature Immunology, Cell Reports, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America, and Journal of Clinical Investigation. She has also been serving as reviewers and editors for many reputed journals.

Dr. Wu received his Ph.D. in Genetics in 1998 from the Fudan University, Shanghai, P. R. China. He did postdoctoral trainingatthe Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN, and Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Baltimore, MD. Dr. Wu joined the Karmanos Cancer Institute and Department of Oncology in 2006 as an assistant professor and is now an associate professor with tenure in the Dept. of Oncology at Wayne State University.As a cancer biologist, Dr. Wu investigated intrinsic mechanisms underlying human cancer progression and the impact of tumors on immune landscape remodeling. His research was sponsored by NIH/NCI, Susan Komen, and multiple internal grants from Karmanos and University. He has more than 60 peer-reviewed publications in journals which include Nature Communications, Nature Medicine, JNCI, PNAS, Cancer Research, and Oncogene.

Dr. Vishwanatha is aRegents Professor and Vice President, and Founding Director of the Texas Center for Health Disparitiesat the University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth. He is a principal investigator of the National Research Mentoring Network, a NIH Common Fund initiative to provide mentorship, networking and professional development for a diversified biomedical and behavioral workforce. He is also a principal investigator of the NIH Specialized Center of Excellence in Health Disparities, AIM-AHEAD Coordinating Center, as well as the Texas CEAL Consortium. Dr. Vishwanatha received the Presidential Award for Excellence in Science, Mathematics and Engineering Mentoring (PAESMEM) from US White House in October 2019. Dr. Vishwanatha received his Ph.D. in biological sciences from the University of South Carolina in 1983. Dr. Vishwanatha’s research is in cancer molecular biology, experimental therapeutics and nanotechnology. His laboratory is investigating genetic markers that predict development of aggressive prostate and breast cancers, and nanotechnology-based therapies for breast and prostate cancers. His research is funded by NIH, DOD and other agencies. Dr. Vishwanatha is actively involved in mentorship and networking programs to diversify the biomedical research workforce, and has mentored numerous undergraduate and graduate students from under represented groups in biomedical sciences. As thefounding director of the Texas Center for Health Disparities, a Specialized Center of Excellence funded by the National Institutes of Health, he has directed health disparity research, education and community outreach programs. For the past 12 years, he has organized the annual Texas Conference on Health Disparities that attract national speakers and participants.He serves on the external advisory committees for University of Puerto Rico-Cayey, PR; St. Mary’s University, San Antonio, Texas; Alabama State University, Montgomery, Alabama;Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, and Savannah State University, Savannah, Georgia. Dr. Yong Lu is an awardee of the 2021 Cancer Prevention & Research Institute of Texas Rising Stars program. Prior to joining Houston Methodist/Weill Cornell Medicine, he was a co-leader of Wake Forest Baptist Comprehensive Cancer Center for Signaling and Biotechnology (SBT) program. During 2019-2021, he was a member of NCI's cell-based immunotherapy network to: (A) provide NCI with advice on the research gaps in cancer adoptive cell therapy; (B) advise the NCI on future directions of cancer adoptive cell therapy. Dr. Lu's work focuses on translational T cell-based adoptive cell immunotherapy, targeting lung cancer, pancreatic cancer, and other cancers.

Dr. Fen Yang is an associate professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Nanjing Medical University. Previously, she worked in MD Anderson Cancer Center at Texas University as a research scientist. Her research focuses on cancer biology and epigenetic regulation. He was endowed as Lawrence-Krause Research Professor in Radiation Oncology in 2019.He alsoserved as a founding Dean at the Institute of Translational Medicine, Zhejiang University, China in 2014-2018. The main research focus of Sun laboratory is to define the role of Cullin RING ligases (CRLs) and protein neddylation in regulation of tumorigenesis. His laboratory has validated CRLs and protein neddylation, upon abnormal activation in cancer, are promising cancer targets, and is actively engaging in the discovery of small molecule inhibitors of CRLs-neddylation for cancer therapy. Kuan-lin Huang, Ph.D. Fundraiser and Cheerleader (aka Principal Investigator) Born and raised in Taiwan, Kuan-lin "Kuan" Huang is now an Assistant Professor of Genetics and Genomic Sciences and PI of the Computational Omics Lab at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. After being the only graduate to earn two Honors (Molecular Biology & Studio Art) at Wesleyan University, he completed his Ph.D. in Statistical Genomics and Postdoc in Multi-omic Software Development at Washington University in St. Louis. Dr Edwin Parra is an Associate Professor and Director of the Multiplex Immunofluorescence and Image Analysis Laboratory in the Department of Translational Molecular Pathology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. He obtained his M.D. from the University of Mayor de San Andres, Bolivia, and finished his Residence in Pathology at Sao Paulo Medical School, Brazil. Then he obtained his Ph.D. and his Post-doctoral Fellow at the same university—a second Post-doctoral Fellow at MD Anderson Cancer Center. He is a pathologist with a strong background in surgical pathology and research. His main interest is tissue immune profiling and elucidating the mechanisms involved in the pathogenesis and progression of cancer, particularly lung cancer. Dr. Woo Keun Song is a professor of school of life science and director of Bioimaging research center at Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST) in Korea. He obtained his Ph.D from University of Illinois at Urbana and Champaign (UIUC). Also he had Post-doctoral training experience in the UIUC and Seoul national university. His main interest is the communication between cancer and cancer environment. In particular he has focused on roles of microenvironment in breast cancer development. Recently he found that anticancer agents that can target microtubules by specifically binding to acetylated microtubule which are dominant in triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC), suggest that the compounds act as potential therapeutic agents against acetylation enrichment in TNBC. He has over 20 years of research experience in this field and published over 150 papers about cancer cell migration and motility and cell adhesion.

Prof. Pan, PhD, MD, is Chairman of Department Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in Southern Medical University School of Basic Medical Sciences, Director of Guangdong Province Key Laboratory of Single Cell Technology and Application, in Guangzhou, China. Prior to this he serviced as a research scientist and project leader at Department of Genetics of Yale University School of Medicine, USA, for over a decade, while as a member of Yale Center Excellence in Genomics, Yale Cancer Center, and Yale Stem Cell Center. He got his PhD in Fudan University, and postdoc training at Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences & Peking Union Medical College, and Yale University. He started his exploration of single cell sequencing in early 2000s as a member of ENCODE consortium, having contributed a dozen of technologies for single cell genomics, epigenomics, transcriptomics, telomere, and multiomics. He conducted researches on a variety of human systems and diseases particularly cancers and stemness, contributing over 120 publications, and 14 patents issued internationally. He was interviewed for his works by PNAS Journal Club in 2013, GEN in 2015 and TechNet in 2018, and granted CastUSA Single-Cell Genomics Pioneer Award in 2022. He organized the 1st international conference on single cell and spatial omics (TICSSO) in 2023 with 2000 on-site and half a million online attendees.
