Dr. Gendelman obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Natural Sciences and Russian Studies with honors from Muhlenberg College and his MD from the Pennsylvania State University-Hershey Medical Center where he was the 1999 Distinguished Alumnus. He completed a residency in Internal medicine at Montefiore Hospital, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and was a Clinical and Research Fellow in Neurology and Infectious Diseases at the Johns Hopkins University Medical Center. He occupied senior faculty and research positions at the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions, the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences Center, the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research, and the Henry Jackson Foundation for the Advancement in Military Medicine before joining the University of Nebraska Medical Center faculty in March of 1993. He retired from the US Army with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Dr. Gendelman has authored over 580 peer-reviewed publications, edited 12 books and monographs, holds 138 patents, is the Editor-In-Chief and Founder of the Journal of Neuroimmune Pharmacology from 2004-2021, and currently NeuroImmune Pharmacology and Therapy along with service on fifteen editorial boards, national and international scientific review, and federal and state committees. He has been an invited lecturer to more than 300 scientific seminars and symposia and the recipient of numerous local, national, and international honors. He is a true luminary of the medical center attested by being the recipient of the Henry L. Moses Award in Basic Science; the Carter-Wallace Fellow for Distinction in AIDS Research, the David T. Purtilo Distinguished Chair of Pathology and Microbiology; the Margaret R. Larson Professor of Infectious Diseases and Internal Medicine; being named a Nebraska Pioneer; a UNMC Scientist Laureate; a NU Outstanding Research and Creativity Award winner, the 2013 UNMC Innovator of the Year, the 2014 Outstanding Faculty Mentor of Graduate Students; the Life Saver Award from the Nebraska Coalition for Lifesaving Cures; and the Pioneer in Neurovirology Award by the International Society for NeuroVirology. He is also the President-Elect of the Society on Neuroimmune Pharmacology. The Humanitarian of the Year award was bestowed on him by the Jewish Federation of Omaha. Society granted him the Joseph Wybran, Herman Friedman, and Lifetime Service Awards. Dr. Gendelman was also named a J. William Fulbright Research Scholar at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel. In 2001. He received the prestigious Jacob Javits Neuroscience Research Award from the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke and the Career Research Award in Medicine from the Department of Internal Medicine, UNMC. He enjoys a current Hirsch Index of 115 included amongst a selective scientific group listed on highly cited.com as one of the top-cited scientists in his field. He has co-founded Exavir Therapeutics, Inc. a biotechnology company developing therapies towards and cures for chronic diseases that includes HIV/AIDS. In 2022, the Nebraska Coalition for Lifesaving Cures honored Dr. Gendelman and his wife, Dr. Bonnie Bloch with their highest honor for their outstanding research and community service contributions.

Dr. Qihui Wang completed her Ph.D. training at the Institute of Biophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) in 2012. She then joined the Institute of Microbiology, CAS (IMCAS) as a postdoctoral researcher under the guidance of Prof. George F. Gao. In 2022, she was honorably promoted to the rank of tenured full professor at IMCAS. In 2017, she was awarded a prestigious scholarship from the China Scholarship Council, enabling her to serve as a visiting scholar at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. Dr. Wang has also won the National Outstanding Youth Foundation and Excellent Young Scientists Fund, among other accolades, including the Young Scientist Award from the CAS in 2021. Her research is primarily focused on elucidating the complex mechanisms involved in virus invasion and developing drugs that can inhibit viral entry. This includes the development of therapeutic antibodies that can block the interaction between viral ligands and host receptors, as well as peptide inhibitors that can impede the membrane fusion process during virus entry. Additionally, she is dedicated to designing vaccines that can offer broad protection against SARS-CoV-2 variants and confer long-lasting immunity against infection with this virus. In collaboration with Prof. George F. Gao, she has made significant breakthroughs in unraveling the receptor recognition and interspecies transmission mechanisms of coronaviruses, including MERS-CoV and SARS-CoV-2. She has also established a platform that combines the isolation of antigen-specific memory B cells with single-cell sequencing to obtain monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) targeting viral ligands. Using this approach, she successfully isolated potent neutralizing mAbs against SARS-CoV-2, Zika virus, and rift valley fever virus from convalescent patients, respectively, providing important candidate drugs for the treatment of related infections. Notably, a neutralizing antibody against SARS-CoV-2 (CB6, also known as Etesevimab and JS016) was advanced to clinical application by Eli Lilly & Co., greatly contributing to the treatment of patients. Currently, a membrane fusion inhibitor (HY3000), co-developed with Hybioo Pharmaceutical, is undergoing Phase II clinical trials. Data is being collected to evaluate its effectiveness in preventing SARS-CoV-2 infection via nasal spray. These findings have been published in prestigious journals, including Cell, Nature, and Immunity, among others, and some were selected as one of the TOP 10 Advances in Chinese Life Sciences in 2021. In addition to her research achievements, Dr. Wang has also translated "No Time To Lose: A Life in Pursuit of Deadly Viruses" into Simplified Chinese, with nearly 10,000 copies sold to date.

Dr. WanjunChen is a Senior Investigator and Chief of the Mucosal Immunology Section, at NIDCR, NIH. Dr. Chen received his medical degree in China and did his postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard Medical School. His research studies mechanisms of T-cell immunity and tolerance and manipulates T-cell immunity versus tolerance in animal models to understand the pathogenesis of and develop immunotherapy for autoimmunity, cancer, and infectious diseases, with specific interests in transforming growth factor-beta (TGF).

Dr. Xi Yang obtained his medical degree from Cheeloo Medical College, Shandong University in China and his PhD degree in Immunology from University of Manitoba. He is currently a Professor in the Departments of Immunology and Medical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases at the University of Manitoba. He served as the Head of the Department of Immunology and was the Canada Research Chair in Infection and Immunity. His research program focuses on infection and allergic diseases, particularly chlamydial infections and the effect of infection on allergic diseases.

Dr. Sharma received her B.Sc. and Ph. D. in Microbiology and Immunology from McGill University, in Montreal, Quebec. From 2004-2009, she was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Immune Disease Institute (IDI), at Harvard Medical School in the laboratory of Dr. Anjana Rao. She was an instructor at IDI and in Paediatrics at Childrens Hospital Boston, and at Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Susu Zughaier is an Associate Professor of Microbiology and Immunology and chair of Infectious Diseases research Network at Qatar University College of Medicine. Trained as a clinical microbiologist at University College London; MSc and PhD in Microbiology and Immunology from Cardiff University, UK. Postdoctoral training at Harvard Medical School in Boston, USA and was Assistant Professor of Microbiology and Immunology, Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, USA. Her research interests are focused on host-pathogen interactions, vaccine development and nanotechnology for rapid detection of bacterial infections. Her translational research is focused on vitamin D immune modulatory effects and she implements artificial intelligence in medical applications in her research. Dr. Zughaier published more than 80 scientific research papers and awarded two patents on her discoveries. She has been listed among the top 2% of highly cited authors with impact in their field in 2020 Stanford study. She is an active member of various international societies and serves as Associate Editor, Editorial board member and ad-hoc reviewer for multiple international journals.

After finishing Ph.D. in India, I completed postdoctoral training at UTMB, Texas, and at the University of Virginia, Charlottesville. I started the faculty position at the University Of California San Diego (UCSD). Other than my own research program at the University of California San Diego (UCSD), I co-founded the UC San Diego’s HUMANOID Center of Research Excellence to provide access to adult stem cell-based organoid models to researchers and to develop transdisciplinary collaborations with computational biologists, physician-scientists, and bio engineers. After 11 years at UCSD, I moved to UMass-Lowell with my lab group. I have an affiliation with UCSD as an Adjunct Associate Professor.

Dr. Kutty Selva Nandakumar had research experience in three different countries (India, Sweden, and China).In India, he did a bachelor's in chemistry (University of Madras, India) and a master's in medical biochemistry (University of Madras, India). His first Ph.D. (1996) was in Immunology (Madurai Kamaraj University, India), working on a project entitled "Studies on the importance of porin, an outer-membrane protein, in murine and human typhoid," and he worked as a postdoc in tumor immunology (CCMB, India). Then he moved to Lund University, Sweden, in 1998 as a postdoc in Medical Inflammation Research. He became a doctoral student again to complete his second Ph.D. (2006) on "Analysis of effector phase in arthritis," and then worked as a senior researcher. In 2008, he moved as a lab member from Lund University to Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, Sweden, where he became an assistant professor and then associate professor and senior researcher at Karolinska Institute until 2016. His work is recognized with the title "Docent" for lifelong from Karolinska Institute, where he taught organic chemistry and biochemistry to undergraduate students and trained master's and Ph.D. students in autoimmune disease research as principal and co-supervisor. He was a coordinator for one of the doctoral courses in autoimmune diseases. During this period in Sweden, he received several grants for his research from various Swedish funding agencies. He was the author/coauthor of around 120 publications. Then, he went to Southern Medical University, Guangzhou, China, as a Professor of Pharmacology from Oct 2016 to Oct 2021. He will investigate citric-acid cycle metabolites and enzymes and their role in the pathogenesis of autoimmune diseases focusing on energy metabolism (OXPHOS) and mitochondrial gene(s) in different cells. His future group will continue work on bacterial vesicles from the intestinal bacteria and probiotics in the presence and absence of various nutrients and specific pre-biotics. His group will evaluate how bacterial/host vesicles/metabolites modulate oxidative phosphorylation and energy metabolism in multiple cells, including osteoclasts, osteoblasts, fibroblasts, myocytes, and keratinocytes to find out ways to improve health and exercise performance, as well as treat autoimmune diseases like Rheumatoid arthritis, diabetes and psoriasis apart from infection-related complications.

Dr. Ling is a Professor at the Texas Biomedical Research Institute in San Antonio, Texas. She received her Ph.D. degree from Peking University Health Science Center in Beijing, China. Dr. Ling's laboratory is interested in using nonhuman primate models to study the persistence of HIV in tissues and organs to develop novel drug delivery and therapeutic strategies for HIV reduction or eradication. Her team also aims to understand what controls or spreads the virus in a host with or without therapeutic intervention. Additional interests include the relationships between HIV/SIV and aging, and HIV/SIV and the microbiome. Ling's current research is supported by NIH. She has a broad background in molecular virology, immunology, and many years of experience and expertise in nonhuman primate models in HIV/SIV pathogenesis and cure studies.

Dr. Jifeng Yu, M.D., now is a distinguished professor and chief physician in the Department of Hematology at the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University, China He got his Medicine Doctor and M, Sc, in Hematology at Henan Medical University (now Zhengzhou University). He has published two books and over 60 research papers. He has contributed to workshops on HLDA (Human Leukocytes Differentiation Antigens), particularly in antibody cross-examination and classification. His research focuses on immunotherapy for hematological malignancies.

I am an immunologist and molecular biologist and currently working at Duke University Medical Center. My current project is to elucidate the cellular and molecular mechanisms of a novel anti-CFH monoclonal antibody in mouse cancer models. The goal is to establish the role of this highly promising anti-cancer drug in preclinical models. The antibody is being evaluated in Phase I/II clinical trial. Previously, I worked as a post-doctoral researcher at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center where I was deciphering the role of CXCR4 signaling on the growth of melanoma and renal cancer in vitro and in animal models. The study explores the use of CXCR4 antagonists as an adjunct to VEGFR-targeted therapies and various immune checkpoint inhibitors, both of which have been shown to be active in cancer patients. This work has facilitated the ongoing Phase I/II clinical trial to test the effects of CXCR4 antagonist in patients with advanced melanoma, renal cell carcinoma, and other cancers. Prior to this, I also worked in a project to study the role of quinone oxidoreductases in breast cancer and metastasis. Specifically, the project aimed at investigating the role and mechanism of NQO1 and NQO2 in protection against breast cancer metastasis. I did my PhD from Central Drug Research Institute, India and during my PhD training, I studied different dimensions of breast cancer and drug development. As a graduate student, I worked on activity determination and dissecting the mechanism of action of the lead novel synthetic compounds of benzopyran and spiro-oxindole class in breast cancer cells and in xenograft model of breast cancer. To sum up, the overall goal of my research work has been to define new treatment strategies for cancer.

Dr. Du is a professor in the Institute for Biomedical Sciences at Georgia State University. Her research mainly focuses on the rational design and development of effective and safe vaccines and therapeutic agents to prevent and treat infection caused by coronaviruses, flaviviruses, and other pathogenic viruses.

I am Zahra Mozooni, a researcher in the field of immuno-oncology from Iran. I recently obtained my Master's degree from Semnan University, Iran. My current research focuses on biomarkers and their role in gastrointestinal cancer. I am collaborating with the Institute of Immunology and Infectious Diseases, Antimicrobial Resistance Research Center, Iran University of Medical Sciences, Tehran, Iran, on various research projects. I published this paper during my master's degree. In conclusion, my research has been focused on developing novel treatment and diagnostic approaches for cancer. My ambition is to pursue a Ph.D. in immuno-oncology or Immunotherapies to further my knowledge and expertise in this field.

Dr Wong, Darren is a senior research fellow with the Department of Biological Sciences, National University of Singapore. He received his B.Sc. (Hons.) from the National University of Singapore and was awarded his Ph.D. in mechanobiology by the Mechanobiology Institute Singapore, NUS. His research focuses on the mechanobiology of innate immune natural killer cells, cardiac aging, and the translational potential of harnessing cellular contractility in treating cancer. Dr. Wang is a Professor in the Department of Microbiology & Immunology at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. Brandon Lucke-Wold was born and raised in Colorado Springs, CO. He graduated magna cum laude with a BS in Neuroscience and distinction in honors from Baylor University. He completed his MD/PhD, Master’s in Clinical and Translational Research, and the Global Health Track at West Virginia University School of Medicine. His research focus was on traumatic brain injury, neurosurgical simulation, and stroke. At West Virginia University, he also served as a health coach for the Diabetes Prevention and Management program in Morgantown and Charleston, WV, which significantly improved health outcomes for participants. In addition to his research and public health projects, he is a co-founder of the biotechnology company Wright-Wold Scientific, the pharmaceutical company CTE cure, and wasa science advocate on Capitol Hill through the Washington Fellow’s program. He has also served as president of the WVU chapters for the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists, Neurosurgery Interest group, and Erlenmeyer Initiative Entrepreneur group. Her research area includes molecular microbiology, metagenomics approach, recombinant enzyme production, extremophile microorganisms, their metabolites, and biotechnological application. She has 15 papers in an international and national refereed journal, 5 book chapters in an international publisher, and 18 presentations at national and international congresses. She has worked as a researcher, manager, and supervisor on 15 projects.

Dr. Guojun Wu received his Ph.D. in Genetics in 1998 from the Fudan University, Shanghai, P. R. China. He completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN, and Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Baltimore, MD. He is now a tenured associate professor in the Department of Oncology. As a cancer biologist, Dr. Wu has an active research portfolio focused primarily on genetic and epigenetic alterations in human breast cancer initiation, progression, and metastasis. He has more than 60 peer-reviewed publications in journals which include Nature Communications, Nature Medicine, JNCI, PNAS, Cancer Research, and Oncogene. His research was supported by NIH/NCI, Susan Komen, and multiple internal grants from Karmanos and University. Dr. Wu is also actively teaching nine courses in the cancer biology program and across the medical school. He has mentored or served as a committee member for multiple medical students and Ph.D. or MD/Ph.D. students in their cancer research projects.

Dr. Zhang is a professor in the department of Pharmacology at Tongji University in Shanghai, China. He received his Ph.D. degree from Tongji University and got postdoc training in Daniel Kaplan lab at University of Pittsburgh, US. Dr. Zhang’s research focused on neuro-immune interactions of immune cells and other non-immune cells interact with specific pathogens (e.g. C. albicans, C. neoformans) in peripheral organs (e.g. skin, lung, gut, etc.) to development of innate immune responses that provide host protection. Dr. Amir Jalali obtained his Ph.D. degree in molecular genetics from the National Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (NIGEB) in Iran. He is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biology at Arak University. He worked as the head of the Biology Department and a member of the Iranian Biology Society and Iranian Genetics Society. His research program focuses on the biological investigation of nanoparticles as therapeutic agents for cancer and bacterial infections, bacterial metagenomics analysis, and genetic polymorphism.

Dr. Mamishi has been a full professor at the Tehran University of Medical Sciences since 2003. She has also been the director of the Department of Paediatric Infectious Diseases and the Paediatric Infectious Diseases Research Center at Tehran University of Medical Sciences since 1994. She has contributed to different types of clinical research to improve our knowledge of diseases and develop new treatments and technology to ensure better patient care. Some of her national and international research was related to SARS-CoV-2 infection (diagnosis and treatment), a multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children (MIS-C), antibacterial resistance and genotyping of numerous bacteria, diagnostic methods of latent tuberculosis, etc. She is the recipient of numerous awards and honours as well.

Dr. Selma Zenia D’Silva has been working with India’s largest tertiary cancer care hospital Tata Memorial (Mumbai) since 2016. She has been involved in Transplant diagnostics mainly HLA typing, KIR genotyping, and antibody screening for identifying donors for hematopoietic stem cell transplantation for various hematological malignancies. Her research involves identifying the role of KIRs, cytokine, and chemokine receptors in hematopoietic stem cell transplant outcomes, which will help in the identification of patients at high risk of developing complications post-transplant. An ongoing project aims at validating NK cell-mediated cytotoxicity which will translate into NK cell Immunotherapy to improve transplant outcomes. More recently she has been involved in deciphering the role of MIC A and B genes and their associations with transplant outcomes. These projects have been funded by the Terry Fox cancer association; industry sponsored (GenDx) as well as intramural funds. Her research work (>50 peer-reviewed articles and 3 chapters) has been published in various national and international journals

Dr. Anis Rageh Al Maleki is a senior lecturer in the Department of Medical Microbiology, Faculty of Medicine at the University of Malaya (UM), Malaysia. He received his Ph.D. in Medical Microbiology from UM, and a postdoctoral fellowship at the Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Dentistry, University of Malaya, Malaysia. His research focuses on the genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics next generation sequencing of Helicobacter pylori, Burkholderia spp, Candida spp, and oral microbiota. He has published several research articles and served as an Editorial member in the Asian Council of Science Editors.

Linda Chia-Hui Yu is a Professor at the Graduate Institute of Physiology, National Taiwan University College of Medicine in Taiwan. She received her Ph.D. degree from McMaster University and postdoctoral training at the University of Calgary in Canada. Dr. Yu’s laboratory investigates pathophysiological mechanisms of intestinal epithelial biology and mucosal immunology. Her research interest is focused on host-microbe interaction for the regulation of epithelial barrier and intestinal tumorigenesis. She has received numerous competitive research grants from the Ministry of Science and Technology and the National Health Research Institute in Taiwan. She currently serves as a Council member of the Federation of Asian and Oceanian Physiological Societies (FAOPS) (2019-2023), Chair of Commission V secretion and absorption in the International Union of Physiological Sciences (IUPS) (2022-2025), Councillor of Chinese Physiological Society (CPS) in Taiwan(2022-2024).

Zilungile Mkhize-Kwitshana is an Associate Professor and Immunologist in the School of Laboratory Medicine and Medical Sciences at the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) where she leads a team of researchers and post graduate students. She is a C3 NRF rated medical scientist. She is an academic manager with over 30 years combined experience in Medical Research, Higher Education and Pathology environments encompassing routine clinical diagnostics in the public health sector, medical research, academic undergraduate, postgraduate and postdoctoral teaching and supervision. She also leads and participates in several capacity development initiatives. Prof Mkhize-Kwitshana’s research interest is the Immunology of co-infections, with special interest in immunological modulation of HIV, HPV, TB and oncogenesis by neglected tropical infections. Other areas of interest include the intersection between immunity, microbiome, infection and nutrition. She has been a principal investigator on several research projects and has attracted millions of research grant funding over the years, with several peer-reviewed publications and book chapters in these areas. She has established national and international collaborations. She is a recipient of awards including the United Kingdom KIC Immunology Fellowship travel award, the MUT honorary Microbiology Award and others. She serves as a reviewer and editorial board member of international and national scientific journals. Dr. Mrs. Neelima Garg, Director ICAR- CISH Lucknow did her M.Sc and Ph. D. (Microbiology) from Haryana Agri. Univ. Hisar. He joined ARS services as Scientist at CISH , Lucknow in 1988. In 1989 under Indo-USaid project on post-harvest technology of fruits, she received 4 months training at Cornell University, U.S.A, in the area of fruit processing microbiology and horticultural waste utilisation. In 2016 she visited Cambridge University, UK to attend International Workshop on ‘Female Leaders in Crop and Agricultural Sciences’ Organised by DBT and Cambridge University, UK. Dr. Garg is recipient of Dr. J.S.Pruthi and Kezriwal Awards for the years 2000 and 2006 provided by All India Food Processors Association, ICN International Award 2020 in the category of Agriculture by ICN Media Group and LMA Outstanding Women Achiever Award 2021 by Lucknow Management Association. Dr. Murad Alahdal Graduated from China Pharmaceutical University in basic medicine "Microbiological and Biochemical Pharmacy". Finished a postdoctoral experience at Zhejiang University, School of Medicine. Worked as an assistant research professor at Shenzhen Second People's hospital in the key laboratory centre of tissue engineering and artificial intelligence.

Hafiz Abid Mahmood Malik is a faculty member at Arab Open University Bahrain. He is a "senior Fellow AdvanceHE" (SFHEA) UK. Being a member of IEEE, he served the IEEE Bahrain chapter as Vice-Chair for Students Activities. Dr. Malik has won gold and silver medal in some research poster competitions (national/international). He has received the best paper awards at two international conferences. His area of research covers complex networks, network sciences, mathematical modelling of diseases, and social networks. Mohanad I.H. Mahmoud, a Ph.D. student at Central South University. was born in Darfur, Sudan, and is a graduate of Omdurman Islamic University. I was born and grow up in Iran. I have a bachelor's and master's degree in plant protection and a specialized doctorate in agricultural biotechnology. Furthermore, I worked at the University of Bologna, Italy, as a visiting scholar. Dr.Elsayed received his Ph.D. in November 2018 from the Institute of Clinical and Molecular Virology, Friedrich Alexander-University Erlangen-Nürnberg, Erlangen, Germany. Title of dissertation: Harnessing T-helper cell responses induced by licensed vaccines for improving virus-like particle-based vaccination against HIV. Advisor: Prof. Dr. Klaus Überla. Dr.Elsayed started his doctoral thesis studying the enhancement of HIV Env-specific antibody responses by infrastructural help from heterologous T helper cells. As a proof-of-principle, Dr.Elsayed used tetanus toxoid as a heterologous antigen to modulateHIVEnv specific antibody responses. He primed mice with Tetanol© or a DNA vaccine expressing tetanus toxoid before he boosted the primed mice with HIV virus-like particles (VLP) containing fragments of tetanus toxoid inside the particle. He noticed a predominant enhancement of HIV Env-specific IgG1 antibodies. To raise HIV Env-specific IgG2a antibodies, which are thought to mediate more efficient Fc-effector functions, he also constructed VLPs containing immunodominant T helper cell epitopes of the HB-S-Ag and could demonstrate infrastructural help mediated by these epitopes in mice immunized against HB-S-Ag. After a short postdoctoral position at the Translational Research Center, FriedrichAlexander-University Erlangen-Nürnberg, Erlangen, Germany, he established his independent research in the field of infectious disease and cancer at the Biotechnology Research Institute at NRC, Egypt. As a principal investigator, Dr.Elsayed received two grants from the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT), Egypt to develop novel vaccination strategies against SARS-CoV-2 and HCV infection.

Jamshid Hadjati is a Professor in the Department of Medical Immunology, School of Medicine at the Tehran University of Medical Sciences where he has been a faculty member since 1995. Dr. Hadjati is the instructor for Medical Immunology on undergraduate and postgraduate topics in particular cancer immunology and therapy. Dr. Hadjati has served on roughly more than ten conference scientific committees and served as the program chair for several national and international congresses. Dr. Hadjati completed his Ph.D. at the Tehran University of Medical Sciences and his undergraduate studies at the University of Urmia. His research interests lie in the area of tumor immunology and immunotherapy, ranging from theory to design to implementation. He has collaborated actively with national and international researchers in several other related disciplines of medical sciences, particularly immune cell-based therapies such as DC therapy. Since 2015, Dr. Hadjati has been developing new immunotherapies that use immune T cells genetically engineered to carry tumor-seeking chimeric antigen receptors (CARs)- for example, anti-CD19 and anti-mesothelin-directed CAR T cells. He and his translational research lab have extensive experience assessing the function of CAR T cells targeting CD19 and mesothelin antigens in cells and mouse models of human tumors. In the laboratory, Dr. Hadjati is now investigating different means by which adoptive immunotherapy with meso- and CD19-specific CAR T cells might be optimized; i.e. by inactivating “checkpoint” molecules such as TIM3 and A2aR that can otherwise incapacitate T cell responses. Another project is investigating different pharmacological and genetic tools to enhance the survival of CAR T cells.

Dr. Frleta is a Senior Principal Scientist at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. in Tarrytown, NY. He received his Ph.D. at Dartmouth Medical School. His post-doctoral work in human immunology was at the Baylor Institute of Immunology Research in Dallas, TX, and at New York University Medical Center in New York, NY. Dr. Frleta oversees research and development centered on the VelociHumTMmouse model at Regeneron, a mouse model with a working human immune system for accelerating preclinical invivo drug testing.

"Dr. Chunjing “Evangeline” Bao is a recent graduate from Duke University. She worked with Dr. Soman Abraham and her main research projects included investigating how the immune system crosstalks with sensory neurons in allergic diseases and bacterial infections. Evangeline did her undergraduate in Zhejiang University, China. During her time there, she stayed in an immunology lab mentored by Dr. Qingqing Wang. Later, in her senior year of college, she went to Dr. Vicki Rubin Kelley’s lab at Harvard medical school to do research full-time. In these two labs, she was exposed to the mystery and beauty of the immune system, and what roles do innate immune cells play in autoimmune diseases. After college, she embarked on Duke University for her Ph.D. journey. She obtained her Ph.D. from Duke Pathology in April 2023, together with a certificate in cellular and molecular biology."

I am Surbhi Goyal, a Ph. scholar registered in Biotechnology Department at Punjabi University, Patiala, India. My area of Specialization is biotechnology (major), and Microbiology (minor). Dr Chow received her PhD from the University of California, Berkeley (USA) studying gene regulation during B lymphocyte development and malignant transformation. With a Croucher Foundation Fellowship and an NIH F32 National Research Service Award, Dr. Chow conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Washington (USA) studying innate immune signaling and gene networks that regulate the anti-viral immune response. She also conducted research in cancer genomics at the Broad Institute and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute of Harvard and MIT (USA). Dr. Chow started her own lab at the City University of Hong Kong in 2018. Currently, the Chow lab focuses on investigating what constitutes a protective immune response against cancer in order to design effective cancer immunotherapy. The lab combines concepts and techniques from biochemistry, molecular and cell biology, cancer biology, immunology, virology, genomics, cell and animal models, and systems biology to dissect the molecular pathways and gene regulatory networks that modulate the anti-cancer immune response. The ultimate goal of the lab is to develop vaccines and targeted therapies that harness the natural ability of our immune system to fight cancer. Dr. Chow received a Croucher Innovation Award in 2019 for her work in developing cancer immunotherapy.
