Welcome Note By Conference Chair About the Conference

Dear Colleagues,

It is with great pleasure that we welcome all the researchers in the field of Biomaterials to the 3rd International Forum on Biomaterials (BIOMATFORUM2024), which will be held in Prague, Czech Republic during May 09-11, 2024.

The aim of BIOMATFORUM2024 is to be a premier international forum to highlighting the novel developments, to share new ideas, research results and development experiences and providing networking opportunities with the peers to help establish connections for early career scientists to meet a diverse mix of researchers, decision makers to strengthen existing connections and forge new ones.

Also the main agenda of this conference is to bring together world-leading academics, practitioners, industry leaders, policymakers, and business professionals from the fields of Biomaterials to develop practical solutions for current challenges in these fields. The conference series has featured plenary talks, keynote talks, special sessions, poster presentations, workshops, and contributed papers each year.

We do hope you can make time in your busy schedule to the meeting and share your ideas on a topic of your choice and be a part of this successful conference.

We are looking forward to seeing you in Prague, Czech Republic.

Welcome Message for BIOMATFORUM2024,

Scientists Take Back the Research!

BIOMATFORUM2024 Attendees,

I would like to welcome you to BIOMATFORUM2024!

Friends, we are facing a critical time in research, and in particular, biomaterials and healthcare research. At a time when pundits are discrediting research outside of the traditional scientific debate format and using social media, our research is taking a hit. Starting during the early days of the COVID pandemic, when scientific debate was largely silenced due to social distancing, biomaterials research has been criticized and discredited by people not even doing biomaterials research. Vaccines have been criticized. Tissue engineering has been discredited as hype. FDA approval processes have been viewed as not necessary. Nanotechnology has been viewed as a fringe science. Like it or not, everywhere you turn, biomaterials and those conducting biomaterials research, are on the front lines of a battle. But who is fighting back? Where are the Universities? Where are the academic societies? Where are the regulators? Where are the policy makers? Where are the researchers and scientists? Where are you? It is time to take science back. Return to the centuries-old practice of debating scientific breakthroughs through conferences, not social media. Here is a novel idea: debate scientific advances through the scientific process. Hear all sides of the issues. Scientists must present innovative research, not recycle decades of old research, and actively engage in scientific discussions among researchers – those who know the biomaterials field the best. With this, I welcome you to BIOMATFORUM2024 which promises to take science back for the scientists. We don’t pretend to be journalists, so why do some “journalists” pretend to be scientists? Come and present your innovative biomaterials research. Come and debate the value of your colleagues’ research. Come help us build a better future for scientists, not pundits, by actively discussing new biomaterials research.

I look forward to seeing you at BIOMATFORUM2024 and joining the debate !

Best Regards,
